Following their stay, Ford’s mom, Jessica, became involved in giving back by serving on the RMH of Chapel Hill board of directors from 2016-2021.

The Throneburg family called Ronald McDonald House “home” for 160 nights when Ford was in the neonatal intensive care unit in 2015.

Following their stay, Ford’s mom, Jessica, became involved in giving back by serving on the RMH of Chapel Hill board of directors from 2016-2021.

Jessica continues to contribute to the House by hosting fundraisers throughout the year at her boutique, Little Details, located in Garner, NC. What began as an annual “stuff the bag sale,” which enabled the Throneburgs to adopt a room at the Chapel Hill House, has grown. In 2022, they adopted the Hearth Building kitchen in addition to a standard guest room.

Jessica says, “I believe it’s my duty as a business owner to support others in our community, as our community supported my family in our time of need. We’re passionate about #PayingItForward.”

The Adopt-a-Room program offers a yearlong sponsorship of one of our guest rooms, long-term suites, apartments, or common areas in Chapel Hill or Durham.
