The Ronald McDonald Family Room will open in the Duke Central Tower Lobby, Floor 2, on January 8, 2026. We are looking forward to expanding our support to families of pediatric patients at Duke Children’s.
Sign Up to Volunteer
Many volunteers are needed to staff the Family Room. Volunteers should be age 20 or older and willing to commit to volunteering for a year or longer for a weekly 3-hour shift. If you are interested, please email Shandy Woods. There is an additional onboarding process for Duke Hospital that must be completed before you can volunteer.
What Will the Family Room Be Like?
A RMHC Family Room offers families of pediatric patients a welcoming space to take a break, recharge and refuel. Guests may enjoy free snacks and drinks, ready-to-eat meals, or simply relax in a cozy, home-like space – just steps away from their child’s bedside.
