The Walker Family & Revolve Church

The Walker Family & Revolve Church
Dana’s husband, Jarrod, chose to celebrate a milestone birthday by involving their friends and extended family in a wish-list drive and meal night. By that time, the Walker family and Revolve Church were hooked.

It all began with a weekend brunch organized by the staff at Durham’s Easley Elementary School. Dana Walker was a member of the group, and her first volunteer shift at Ronald McDonald House left her wanting more involvement.

Soon, Dana organized her first dinner night at RMH of Durham. The group consisted of her family, teachers and staff from Easley Elementary, and members of Revolve Church. Together, they fed 55 families, and their work did not stop that night.

Dana’s husband, Jarrod, chose to celebrate a milestone birthday by involving their friends and extended family in a wish-list drive and meal night. By that time, the Walker family and Revolve Church were hooked.

For 8 years, the Walkers and Revolve Church organized meals – at least three times a month, if not four. When group members were not available to help prepare a meal, Dana tapped other groups and even solicited local restaurants for meal donations to meet her commitment to RMH kids and families.

Her strength as a teacher showed when Dana began organizing activity nights for families at the House, including arts and crafts as well as RMH of Durham’s much-loved bingo night.

Through their service to Ronald McDonald House the Walkers, Revolve Church, and friends fed literally thousands of people. What’s more, they became favorites of these families, some who still ask about the group when they’re in town for medical appointments.

These servants model sacrificial love and commitment, and we are so grateful!
